Work

Things I've built

Side projects on GitHub: apps and games, a Go library, and small servers built from scratch to learn how they work.

    Pageclock (opens in new tab)

    mq-gabs/pageclock

A reading tracker: log books and reading sessions, then see pages, reading time, speed and streaks.

    • Nx monorepo with a Next.js web app, an Express API and SQLite through Drizzle ORM.
    • Business rules and stats math live in one shared package as pure, tested functions.

    LOROTA (opens in new tab)

    mq-gabs/lorota

A multiplayer bluffing trivia game for 2 to 4 players, in Brazilian Portuguese.

    • Real-time rooms over Socket.IO. The server owns the game phases and every timer.
    • Clients correct for clock skew, so countdowns match for every player.
    • Room chat, question themes, and music and sound effects built with the Web Audio API.

    Slockle (opens in new tab)

    mq-gabs/slockle

A daily browser puzzle: crack four hidden phone-style unlock patterns using colour feedback and hints.

    • Each day's answers come from a fixed seed plus the date, so every player gets the same locks.
    • The game rules live in one shared package. The server replays submitted guesses to check them.
    • English and Brazilian Portuguese, with stats, streaks and an archive of past days.

Rush Dig (opens in new tab)

    mq-gabs/mining

A mobile-first roguelike mining game, written in TypeScript and Canvas with no framework.

    • Game logic has no DOM: each step takes a state and returns a new state plus events.
    • All sound and music is generated with the Web Audio API. The music changes with depth and energy.
    • A balance simulator where bots play whole careers to tune the economy.

    GoPocket (opens in new tab)

    mq-gabs/gopocket

A personal finance API for tracking income and expenses by category.

    • Each module is split into endpoint, validation, service, repository, DTO and mapper layers.
    • One response format for every endpoint, UUID keys, soft deletes and automatic migrations.
